BrownSkin.net TIPS…..on H 2O

In the spring and summer, H2O is critically important for maintaining healthy and radiant brown skin. Skin cells require a constant supply of oxygen for nourishment and it is the blood flowing throughout your body that transports oxygen to the skin cells. Did you know that water is an essential component of your blood? The following water tips will keep your brown skin cells luminous.

  • How much water do you need to drink each day? Research now debunks the need for 8 glasses of water per day. Instead, let your thirst be your guide for how much water to consume. Remember, if you are drinking enough water, your urine will have a light yellow color.
  • Are there other ways of getting enough water? Foods are a good source of adding water or fluids to your body and they are often overlooked. Fruits and vegetables are particularly good. Remember, that you get 2 to 4 cups of water per day from food.
  • Is bottled water safer to drink than tap water? Some bottled water is actually tap water. Tap water is usually safe to drink but if you have any question about the water quality in your community, consider getting your water tested for lead and arsenic (www.purtest.com or www.watersafetestkits.com).
  • Is it safe to drink bottled water a day or so after opening? Bacteria can grow in water so toss those half consumed water bottles away.
  • Are certain types of water better for your health than others? In general all water is the same. However, carbonated water can help digestion and ease constipation. Fluorinated water can prevent tooth decay and lead to healthy teeth.
